NWFed Round 3: Amanda Wright Reports

Last night (4th Dec) EHHPS hosted the 3rd and final round of this season's North West Fed against Field End and Amersham and judged by Kevin Day from Stoke Poges CC.

It's a relatively quick competition with only 15 prints and 15 PDI's in total but I didn't envy Kevin's job as the quality of the images was incredibly high. Sadly only 7 members of EHHPS were witness but our numbers were bolstered by the other two clubs who were in good spirits.

We started with prints and poor Kevin found himself compelled to hold back the first two and then a further 6 prints of the 15, eventually awarding four 20's and four 19's with Kris Mason scoring one of the 20's for Elegance In Olive and a 19 for Glovely. Annie did well too achieving an 18 for Shiver. Totals were pretty close -

  • EHHPS 90

  • Field End 93

  • Amersham 95

The two stars went to Field End and Amersham

In the PDI second half Kevin held back 7 giving five 20's and two 19's this time Paul Mason struck gold with a 20 for Ten Times Tables, sadly no 19's for us but both Kris Mason and Jenny Fenton scored 18 for Flounce and Whitby Ghosts respectively.

Totals were again very close

  • EHHPS 90

  • Field End 92

  • Amersham 94

The two stars both went to Amersham

Totals for the 3rd round then were

  • 1st Amersham 189

  • 2nd Field End 185

  • 3rd EHHPS 180

The results across the whole competition then were no surprise really

  • 1st Amersham 548

  • 2nd Field End 531

  • 3rd EHHPS 517

Our hearty congratulations go to Amersham for yet another strong performance.

Across the whole competition we only achieved 1 star which was Softly Swirling by Annie Hackett PDI which means that I can nominate a starred print for the final starred competition and I've decided to nominate Elegance In Olive by Kris Mason which rightly scored a 20 in this third round.
