Rosebowl Day: Amanda Wright Reports
/The Rosebowl Final was held yesterday 26th April at Amersham, presided over by Paul and with Kris, Nilou and myself in attendance from EHHPS.
The morning started with the phone competition which was judged by Jeanette Lendon, founder of Jet Black Squares who run smartphone photography classes.
Overall attendance was pretty low sadly, I counted 27 but taking into account many of them would have been Competition Secretaries and CACC committee members that's a pretty low turnout, I guess the good weather won over.
EHHPS results were:
King's College Chapel - Annie Hackett - 20 HC
Suspension - Burgess Taylor 20 HC
Iguaza Falls - Jacqui Sinnatt 19
Potential - Nilou Darvish 19
Two Phones And Still A No Show - Amanda Wright 18
Tram Wheels On Brighton Beach - David Thomas 17
Promenade - Paul Mason 16
Theatrical Buzz - Kristin Mason 16
So I have two certificates one for Burgess and one for Annie, well done guys!!
During the breaks 60 beautiful winning prints from the Masters Of Print Competition last year were on display around the room.
The final was held after lunch and unfortunately EHHPS didn't make the top 12 this year. A few more people turned up for the main afternoon event which was good, I counted 40. Colin Harrison judged 96 PDI images which included the starred images and club scores were pretty close.
1st Place Oxford
2nd Place Amersham
Joint 3rd were Maidenhead and Watford
Our two starred images were Pixie by Paul Mason which scored 18 and Camel Shadows by John Clare which scored 15
Shortie Lookout by Dave Atkinson of Oxford was awarded best PDI and that and many of the other entries can be found on the CACC website.
